Nympheus Luminansis: The Waterlilies of Light
The Dance of Light, artist Laurence Saunois, 2021

Coming exclusively to Slater Museum before traveling across the United States, Nympheus Luminansis: The Waterlilies of Light, is a series of 10 large-scale works of art by French artist Laurence Saunois. This show stands as a tribute to Claude Monet and his famous series of paintings depicting the iconic French waterlilies. As an international award-winning artist, Saunois has exhibited throughout Europe and was named the International Artist of the Year by the BBC in 2010 at its yearly wildlife art contest. Slater Museum is pleased to host the debut opening of this traveling exhibition and will be the only museum on the East Coast of the United States to feature this show before it leaves for a multi-year tour across the country. You’re invited to come and experience the sublime and rich colors and brushstrokes of this masterful series and meet the artist on Saturday January 17, 2026 for an opening reception.
