Are you ready for Walktober 2019? Come take a walk with Slater Museum's Director of Education, Dayne Rugh, and learn all about the art and history of Norwich, Norwich Free Academy, and Slater Memorial Museum!
Nestled in the heart of historic Norwichtown, beyond the urban sprawl, lies a vibrant enclave of artistic creativity. With the founding of the Norwich Art School in 1890, local Norwichians, including Ozias and Hannah Dodge, Charlotte Fuller Eastman, Helen Newton and others, left lasting artistic legacies in the classrooms at Norwich Free Academy. Step into the lives of Norwich's Bohemian visionaries and learn how they inspired a sense of artistry and community.
The walking tour will leave from the Norwich Heritage and Regional Visitors' Center, located at 69 E Town St, Norwich, CT 06360. Call (860) 425-5563 to register!
