The 131st Annual Saturday Morning Children's Art Exhibition will fill the Converse Art Gallery with the wonderful creations of the next generation of Connecticut artists.
From the mind of renowned Russian-American artist and art educator, Alexey von Schlippe (1915-1988), Slater Museum is proud to feature nearly two dozen works by von Schlippe spanning an integral part of his career from the 1950s to 1980s.
Upcoming
The Slater Memorial Museum is excited to announce the return of the Current and Former NFA Art Faculty Show! We invite you to join us in celebrating the legacy and continued growth of our vibrant art program first introduced in 1890.
This Summer, in conjunction with the Rose Arts Festival, Slater Museum is launching the exhibition, Contemporary: Modern Art in Southeastern Connecticut.
Annual
Originally founded in 1890, the Norwich Arts School established a legacy of fine arts education at Norwich Free Academy, preparing local students for a lifetime of inquisitive artistic exploration. Work created by the Norwich Art School students was exhibited in an annual year-end exhibition, where their achievements were shared with the community. The 17th Annual Student Exhibition in 1907 was the first show to be hosted in the Converse Building’s large exhibition gallery, establishing a tradition that is still followed to this day through NFA's Visual & Performing Arts program. Please join us every May in Slater Museum’s Converse Art Gallery as we celebrate the growth, talent, and creativity of NFA’s visual arts students.
