School Groups
Slater Memorial Museum welcomes school groups from Connecticut and beyond to experience our world-class collection of artwork. Students of all ages will learn about art, history, and the human experience through several educational opportunities. During Art Analysis Lessons, students closely analyze an art object while exploring themes of identity, beauty, justice, tradition, and more. On a Guided Tour, students engage in interactive narratives that transcend time, culture, and place. Self-guided tours are also available and allow educators to develop their own programs within the museum. On-site sketching activities are encouraged and included in every visit!
For groups interested in receiving an art analysis lesson or guided tour, admission is $8 per person. For groups interested in self-guided tours, admission is $5 per person. Groups from Norwich, Bozrah, Canterbury, Franklin, Lisbon, Preston, Sprague, or Voluntown public schools are eligible for an admission fee waiver.
Registration is required for all school groups. To ensure availability, we recommend registering 4-6 weeks in advance. Please contact Diana Kate Karsanow, Education and Outreach Coordinator, at (860) 425-5562 or karsanowd@nfaschool.org to register.
